Mohammad   Riza Chalid, nicknamed the "Oil King", has been arrested in Indonesia for his alleged involvement in corruption at state-owned oil company Pertamina between 2018 and 2023, including money laundering and rigging lease agreements.

Untung   Widyatmoko , secretary of the Interpol Indonesia National Headquarters, said the notice was issued by Interpol on January 23 to its 196 member countries, asking law enforcement authorities worldwide to help locate and arrest Riza, 66 .

The   AGO estimates the corruption to be worth   285 trillion rupiah, or about $17 billion, with 18 people under suspicion in the case.
